How To Shop For Low Cost Car Insurance With Good Coverage

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Who does not want to save more money? Most of us would like to spend less so we have more money to save for retirement, pay down debts, or even take a trip once in awhile. One thing I do notice is that many people will jump through hoops to save a little money while ignoring some simple ways to save a lot. Believe it or not, one of the ways that most people could save money, is by finding lower cost car insurance policies for their families.

Have you been with the same insurer for years? Some drivers may enjoy a loyalty program, but most people should shop around periodically to make sure they are getting the best possible deal on high quality vehicle coverage. Markets change all of the time so insurers are always coming up with new programs to attract more clients. It can pay to shop for a better deal. At the very least, you can satisfy yourself that your old insurer is the best one for you!

Some things may have changed in your own household that will affect your rates. Some of these changes may be minor, and you may not even realize they could make a difference! Some major changes are more obvious, but you still may not realize that another good insurer can give you cheaper rates.

It used to be hard to shop around for auto policies. But the internet makes it much easier and quicker. Instead of having to drive all over town to meet with agents, you can get a lot of information on the net. In fact, you may even be able to quote and compare car policies online. This means you can do all of your shopping on the net!

You may be entitled to discounts you are not even aware of. This could be because something has changed in your life, or it could be because there is a new discount program in your local area. Even a few small savings can mean big savings over the course of all the years you have to pay for coverage.

Many families find discounts that add up to 20% to 40%. If your family insurers multiple drivers, and maybe even has homeowners insurance with the same company, this saving can be life changing. Consider some family with three drivers and three cars. If they pay to cover a teen or young adult, premiums could be three to four hundred dollars. They could even be more. How would your life chage if you could find a thirty percent discount? If your family pays $300 a month, that discount could save you a hundred dollars a year. That adds up to twelve hundred dollars a year!

Be wary of cutting out some policy options in order to save a few bucks though. If you give up coverage, it can really hurt you if you do need to make a claim. I would encourage you to try to figure out which kind of coverage will help you, and then compare prices for that top quality insurance.

Some vehicles are just cheaper to insure than others too. If you are shopping around for a new or used car, it is prudent to consider the cost of insurance when you are figuring out how much to budget. Again, you can consult the internet to compare quotes before you ever make the final deal for the new vehicle in your family!

Does Car Insurance For Women Give You The Best Rates?

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Women aren’t any better at driving than men, but why is it that car insurance for women can produce such fantastic deals? Car insurance companies are only interested in knocking down insurance companies if they’re less likely to pay out. And, because statistics show women have a lower mileage, make fewer claims, and make less expensive claims, females are often given better rates than males.

How to Choose Cheap Car Insurance for Women

Insurance deals offered by different insurers are going to be different, and this is the same when it comes to women’s car insurance. For example, some policies may over third party only, third party with theft and fire, or fully comprehensive. Some insurers may only offer the female-friendly discounts if a comprehensive policy is chosen, but the very nature of this kind of policy makes it more expensive than others.

Another more common trend in the car insurance world is for add-on deals aimed specifically at women. For example, many car insurance companies are now offering coverage for purses and their contents should they be stolen from the car.

It’s also important to remember that simply being female doesn’t guarantee any low prices or extras. Your history and circumstances will always be taken into account, as with any standard car insurance policy. And, like all insurance policies, younger women (just like younger men) may find it more difficult to get cheap car insurance for women due to a lack of experience.

Can Men Benefit From Cheap Female Car Insurance Deals?

Men don’t usually realize how much they could benefit from cheap car insurance for women, but it is possible. For example, adding a female as an additional driver to a current policy can help to bring costs down. And, if sharing a car with a female relative, getting them to take out a policy and adding you as a named driver could even work out cheaper than getting your own cover.

Car insurance for women can be a fantastic way of reducing insurance costs, even for men! All it takes is a little research and comparison to find a policy that suits you.

Want to save yourself money and effort when it comes to finding car insurance for woman? Comparison is the key when it comes to getting the best deal, so take a look at over to Car Insurance for Women to see how much you could save.

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

If you have owned a home for awhile, you probably already know that your homeowners insurance premiums make up a substantial portion of your monthly home budget. If you just bought a home, on the other hand, you may just be alerted to the fact that you need to budget a hundred dollars a month, or more, for those premiums.

Find Cheaper Premiums on Home Coverage

Do not think that you should accept the 1st rate quote you find. Also, be wary of anybody who tells you that all insurers are the same. Many people have saved hundreds of dollars every year by comparing premium rates.

Shopping around can take awhile if you do it the old way. Your own home premiums will depend upon many factors. The value of your home, the type of coverage you need, where your house is located, and the kind of coverage you require will be some things you will need to mention on an application.

Finding Home Insurance Discounts

Many top property insurers offer discounts for things you are already doing. Do you also need to cover vehicles Do you also have another property to insure. Multiple policy discounts can save you a lot of money. I would suggest looking for auto and home discounts or other multiple coverage discounts.

Just like you do, competitive homeowners insurance companies want to save money. If they can market to one customer with many policies, it is cheaper for them. Take advantage of this savings with discounts.

Some other common discounts will be passed on for things that make your home and personal property safer. A theft alarm or smoke device are not only good ideas, but can also save you money.

Look For Insurers Who Are Friendly To You!

You have to find the company that will be the friendliest to an insurer like you! People with low credit scores may get a bad rap with some insurers, for example, while others do not consider it. It may not seem like a credit report should have anything to do with the price of home insurance, but sometimes it does.

Online Comparison Shopping Saves Insurance Shoppers Time and Money Too

There are some very good online insurance quote services. They are totally free too. You simply enter your details, click the enter button, and then relax because insurers will compete for your business.

Most homeowners need insurance, but they do not need to overpay.

The Benefits of Collision & Comp Auto Insurance Coverage

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Auto Insurance Coverage

The most commonly recognized coverages, in addition to the basic liability are collision and comprehensive coverages also known as other than collision coverage. This article will explain the differences in coverage and what is covered so when you get free insurance quotes you will be well informed.

Collision Coverage

Will pay for damages to your car from hitting another object, such as another car, tree, house or mailbox. This coverage is relatively expensive compared to the other coverages listed in your car insurance policy. Collision coverage is not required by law but may be by your financing or leasing company.

If you have an older vehicle worth less than $2,000, there is little reason for you to purchase collision coverage, because you are likely to pay more money in premium than you would ever receive as a result of a claim. Auto insurance policies only require the company to cover your financial expenses, not to replace your vehicle. In the case of an accident involving an older car, the cost of repairing the car can quickly exceed the worth of the car. In that case, an insurer will “total” the car and pay you what the car was worth rather than fixing it. In severe cases, the worth of the car might not exceed the premiums paid for the coverage.

Comprehensive (Other than Collision) Coverage

This coverage will pay for almost all other damages to your vehicle including, theft, vandalism, severe weather, flood, fire, the hitting of an animal and glass including your windshield. This coverage isn’t as expensive as collision coverage and is chosen by many consumers. This coverage is also optional and not required by law.

Remember if you decide to have collision or comprehensive coverage you will also have to choose a deductible amount from zero to $2500. The deductible is the amount you are responsible to pay before the insurance company pays there portion.

Basically, deductibles reduce your premiums because you agree to deduct a set amount from the claim your insurer otherwise would have to pay. Insurance companies offer deductibles because they reduce the number of small claims, which are costly for them to handle.

If you lease or purchase a new car and have a loan, the lending company will might insist you have collision and comprehensive coverage with deductibles no higher than $1000 each. The reason the require this coverage is to make sure the car is worth something in case you default on your payments and they have to resell your car to recoup there money.

In the event you have to buy, or decide to buy, collision or comprehensive coverage, you can save money by agreeing to the highest deductible you can afford to pay in the event of an accident. However, because comprehensive coverage is usually cheaper than collision coverage, many people save money by dropping the collision coverage and keeping the comprehensive coverage to protect against natural perils, theft and glass breakage.
