Make Your New Year Choices Wisely

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

At this time of the year there is so much we need to get ready for; the holidays, parties, family gatherings and equally important is the decisions pertaining to the health insurance policy that needs to be renewed for the following year. Now is not the time to get complacent, but to closely examine how the new changes will affect the policy you currently have and how to keep out of pocket expenses, as well as premium rates at a minimum.

Most of the changes that you will see in your health insurance plan directly relate to the changing health care regulations that the government is putting in place. There will be benefits like the fact that parents can now provide insurance to their children up to age 26, coverage for all regardless of previous health issues, and insurance companies will no longer be able to put a lifetime maximum on any health insurance policy. This of course is the good news.

Now comes the dreaded dilemmas that these changes are forcing. Health insurance companies are finding it necessary to raise premium rates on policies that these changes are intended to help and will also increase deductibles and co-payments. Many employers are increasing the deductibles to avoid absorbing these rate increases that will affect the cost of their employees. This trickle down effect will eventually get so far out of reach the employers will have to shut down, adding to the ranks of already high unemployment rates.

On paper these changes are the pill that cures, but for most situations, theory and real life are not very compatible. An increase on one side of the scale will cause a decrease on the other side of the scale and if unchecked and unsolved can escalate in terms of expense for people for the future. This is one bit of the bad news.

Overall, health insurance is one of the highest expenses that individuals and families face and in order to improve the overall health insurance coverage of the majority these steps are being taken with little regard for how most Americans are supposed to absorb this increase in the current economy. While overall the changes seem to be a plus, this increase in cost could push more Americans into an uninsured status in the long run and doing so could cause more increases in premiums down the road. The current plan truly solves nothing for Americans and the government needs to stop before they completely bankrupt the American public.

Many people don’t realize that health insurance quotes give you piles of info. It is something you will need to do before getting individual health insurance.

The Reformation of Health Care

And how you can show Profit!

Whether you are inclined towards it or not the Reformation of Health Care is a real existence. In spite of the way you feel, things are looking unsatisfactory.

However this is not the way it has to be. Instead of placing your area of concern on things that you are not able to manage, find out how you can manage your future concerning finances. Then you will be able to acquire the help that you and your loved ones are entitled to.

Understand that the beneficiary of health insurance has never been, and never will be, the owner of the policy. Health insurance was originated by hospitals approaching the insurance industry during the “Great Depression” asking for help in stabilizing their fluctuating income. As such, health insurance beneficiaries are: hospitals, doctors, dentists and other health care providers. Not policy owners!

But you do not have to be a history buff to realize this. Go use your health insurance a lot and what happens?

Nevertheless, there is a certain type of insurance that you can make perform more efficiently by using it a lot. With this certain type of insurance, the premium remains the same throughout the contract at the amount you get to pick.

With this kind of insurance you can “Become Your Own Banker” using the cash values in your policy, the premiums you have paid earn a guaranteed rate of return, while you make your policy’s performance exceed the estimated performance it was designed for! In fact the cash values and face value will become higher the more you use your cash values! The reason for this is that this kind of insurance pays dividends. Besides, your rate of return that you earn on the premium or dividend cannot be taxed under our current laws.

If the Reformation of Health Care worries you, reflect on the facts below:

Perhaps you could change to a health care policy with a high deductible, and reduce your premiums

Pay the rest to a whole life insurance policy that pays you the interest on the premiums you have paid and also lets you use your cash values, then watch as your dividends grow, free from taxation!

This switch will allow you to have the upper hand.

If you only take charge by “Becoming Your Own Banker” you will have the potential to win big! Besides, the more you use your cash values in your whole life policy, the faster and better it will become.

And also, with a policy that has been structured properly, if you chance to become disabled don’t worry, the premium will be paid automatically by the company and the cash values will continue to rise…there is no need for the “high premium” disability insurance!

This is the final line: When you use the “Infinite Banking Concept,” you always win!

“Finally, a plan that truly works! It is time-tested, contains no gimmicks, no multi-level marketing, and no schemes.”- Ruthann and Walt

Tom McFie with Life Benefits, Inc. is widley recognized as a financial coach that helps people recover the money they spend. Tomas does this by teaching people how to utilize the infinite banking concept as described in the book Becoming Your Own Banker

Health Insurance Options For You

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Everyone needs to have health insurance. If you do not have insurance and a family member suffers a serious illness that requires that they need medication for an extended time or to stay in the hospital for an extended time, how long would it take for those medical bills to drain your savings?

Buy as much medical insurance as your family can afford, within reason. The more you have, the better your chances of surviving financially from a medical crisis. Medical bills are more expensive every day. It is not uncommon today for an employer to ask you to pay more for your portion of the company health plan. Insurance companies are more than ever pushing you toward the preferred providers in order to keep medical expenses down.

Since there are several different plans, you will want to choose the one that best fits in your situation. Take time to research each of the different plans.

With the fee for service insurance plan, you get to choose your doctor and the insurance pays all or part of the bill.

With a HMO or Health Maintenance Organization, you pay one monthly fee and are able to visit the doctor’s office as needed for a small or no fee. You are restricted to visiting the doctors that are a part of the HMO or you will have to pay the bill yourself.

A preferred provider plan lets you choose your own doctor from a list of providers that have signed a contract with the insurance company. They agree to give the insurance company a discount for your health care. If you see out of network doctors, you will pay more.

If you have been recently laid off or left a job, you may qualify for COBRA which allows you to keep the insurance from your former job for a certain number of months. If you have been recently laid off, the government will reimburse your employer for a portion of the fee for COBRA for up to nine months.

How To Find Yourself The Best Family Medical Insurance.

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Switching from individual policies and going to a family policy is a really great way to be able to save some money. The difference in costs between the two different policies can be very large. Kids can also be included on these policies right up into early adulthood.

However, actually finding the cheapest policies for your needs can be difficult to do.

Usually people will just go out and get as many quotes as they can from the companies in their area which they live. Once they have done this they go on to compare them to find the best one.

The issue is that is takes a lot of effort to do. it’s also very tough going finding all the companies to get quotes from. Realistically, how are you ever going to know that you have got quotes from them all. Most people give up on this relatively quickly.

Now, thanks to the Internet there is a much better way to do things. People can now use a price comparison website. Simply put, these websites do all the hard work for you.

They collect and then list all the different providers of family medical insurance for all the different states in the US.

Someone who wants to make a search, just comes along and enter some details only once. They are then able to see quotes from all the companies and it becomes an easy process to pick the best one.

Before embarking on this yourself you do need to make sure that the site that you intend to use is completely independent from the insurance companies and that it is not selling insurance policies itself. If a site is in anyway affiliated with a company, it will mean the choice of policies is severely restricted and therefore the range of deals available is a lot less.

One thing to do once you have found a policy that you are happy with is to make sure that you go through the terms and conditions that will be sent to you before you pay with a fine tooth comb. I am afraid that this can take a little time, but it really does have to be done, so just suck it in. I have heard far to many bad stories from people who have not done this and regretted it.

Strategies You Need To Know About Choosing Health Insurance

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Choosing the right Health Insurance Policy can often seem to be an overwhelming, difficult chore, but if you will just pay attention to these five very helpful hints. Everyone involved will soon discover that you are totally up to the task! These hints will be your KEYS to getting a policy that works for you:

1. How the Insurance Company is Rated.

Request the Company’s American Motorist highest rating of your agent. assuming that the company has a high rating from the A.M. registry, there will be available information concerning the company’s rating along with an clarification of the rating. Only take companies that are rated with an A or higher.

2. Your State Board of Insurance will have a Record of Complaints regarding the Insurance Company.

Any big company will have some accusations. Bypass companies with many complaints that have not been corrected. Your insurance agent can provide you with the number for your State Board of Insurance. If your agent will not give the number of the Insurance Board, it’s a red flag! The number for the Council can also be located in any state agency listing. Regardless of what your agent tells you, contact the State Board of Insurance and get the full data on whichever company you are thinking about.

3. The Confines Found on Your Health Insurance Quote.

Look over the quote to ensure you are in agreement with the degree of benefits. It is generally feasible to augment many levels to suit individual necessities and budgets. For instance, it’s cheaper on you to have a higher deductible. There are also lots of plans that will let you share your bills on a 50/50 or 80/20 basis with your Insurance Company, where the company pays 80%. Your stop loss amount will serve as the point where the insurance company will begin assuming responsibility of all your covered medical bills for the rest of the year, and over a yearly basis. However, some plans have what is called a “per cause” deductible. This means that you will bear all bills for each insurance claim incident until you have reached the deductible amount. Make sure that you understand the difference between such plans, so you can pick the one that suits you!

4. The Limits Found in Your Policy.

Get an model policy from your agent, and then look over two passages: The Limitations and Exclusions and The Benefits. You’ll see that several benefits have their limits in the Benefits passage. For instance, outpatient treatment or symptomatic evaluations could be drastically limited. It is now possible to have a major illness like cancer, and never be admitted as a hospital patient. A patient could accrue unbelievable medical bill costs for chemotherapy, radiation therapy, MRIs, and even have surgery done without ever being admitted to the hospital.

You may also find that the rate of your hospital room and intensive care are limited. Your hospital room rates and ICU should not be tied together, but the intensive care should be covered at the local area’s average ICU rate, and the room rate should at the very least cover a basic, semi-private room for you. ICU benefits can be capped off at three times the normal rate of the room, even though intensive care can run ten to twenty times more than the daily room rate. Such a limit in your policy could end up costing you thousands of dollars for just a quick hospital stay. In fact, if you had a long stay with such a limit, you could wind up destitute. Even assuming that it’s stated in your policy that insurance will be 100% responsible after $5,000 in covered medical charges, the operative word is “covered.” If your policy pays three times the room rate on ICU, whatever left over ICU charges you may owe will be labeled as “uncovered” bills!

You need to be cautious of such limitations! You also need to look into the Pre-Existing Conditions Limitation in the event that you currently suffer medical conditions, and see if these conditions will always be disregarded on your insurance policy.

5. Follow Up, and Settle with the Insurance Company Instead of the Agent!

Finally, fill out your check out for the Insurance Company, and then get back in touch to make sure they got it. When your policy comes, look over the Schedule of Benefits so you can confirm your coverage orders, and the next thing to check is whether or not any new Amendments were added that leave out some of your conditions. If illnesses have been banned due to an Amendment, they will never be included in the policy, regardless of Pre-Existing Conditions Limitation expiration. If you follow these five tips you will be able to choose a policy that will save you from disastrous medical costs. You’re likely thinking, “I thought that was the point of getting insurance.” And, yes that is the purpose of all insurance policies, but sadly, lots of policies don’t really give you this kind of protection.

When it comes to choosing your health insurance policy, don’t try to rush a decision. You can be smart about it! A great place to start would be eHealth Insurance.

What To Look For When You Take Out A Family Health Insurance Policy.

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

there are many good reasons why a family health insurance plan should be seriously considered by anyone who is in the position to be able to qualify for one. First of course is the most obvious and that is that it will offer you the chance to save money of different individual policies which is always welcome. It will also mean that you can spend less time with administration as well with just one policy total.

Once it has been established that a family health insurance policy is the right thing for you and your family then you need to continue on to getting and comparing as many quotes as you can.

The best way you can do this is by going to one of the new types of websites that collects and collates all the different providers in one area.

This saves a significant amount of time and prevents people from having to trawl throughout the web to find all the different details of what they are looking for.

The next step before actually going ahead and buying the policy is to check which type it is either PPO or HMO and make sure that that corresponds to the type you want.

Next go through all of the T’s and C’s with a fine tooth comb. The insurance company will provide them for you to be able to read them.

Make sure that you do this, because I still receive too many letters from my subscribers telling me they have run into problems because of this issue.

the last thing to consider is that of pre-existing conditions. there is no skirting round the issue, as insurance companies are not obliged to offer cover to everybody. if anyone you intend to have cover under your family health insurance policy has one, then it needs to be declared or it could cause a real issue for you when and if you actually need to make a claim.

Getting Cheaper Health Care By Choosing Between Family Health Insurance Plans And Individual Ones

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Everybody always has an opinion on the health care industry and it’s costs, that is one thing that you can be sure of. The resent situation has made this area even more prominent.

Seeing as it is always such a hot topic, it seems wise to discuss the best ways to get cheap health care. A good first point is to think about the type of policy that you currently are on. For example Individual plans will have higher monthly installments than a family health insurance plan.

However, be careful not to focus all your attention just on the installments. There is the possibility as well that if you need special conditions adding such as having a pre existing condition then getting a plan for you family may not be possible.

The special conditions, if they are needed will always lend themselves to a greater extent to an individual policy and these offer a greater deal of leeway.

However, other than for specialist conditions Family medical insurance and Individual plans will cover all the same levels of treatment.

Also an extra thing to think about when considering cheap health insurance is the deductibles. This is basically what you will have to pay before the insurance company kicks in. This can vary quite wildly so check the contract very carefully.

Policies are also split into either PPO or HMO, and all though they provide the same level of cover they differ in who you will be able to see for the treatment process. You will either have a primary health care provider or be able to choose a doctor from anywhere but pay more.

Whatever you decide is the best for you, remember to get as many quotes as possible from different providers. The easiest way to do this is with a comparison website, that will collate all the best providers from your state in one place so you don’t have to search for it all over the web.

Once these benefits have really sunk home and you have made up your mind to go for family medical insurance, the best way to progress is to get as many quotes for comparison purposes as possible.

This means that you will not have to search long and hard through the web to firstly find and then compare all the different providers yourself. This will allow you to save so much time.

before actually taking up one of the policies that you have found, remember to check to see whether it is an HMO policy or a PPO policy and according to which one you would like to go for.

After this, it is vitally important to check through all the terms and conditions in detail. every policy will include them and they will most likely be long.

Ok, so whilst this is not going to be the most fun task you will ever have to do, it needs to be done properly to prevent problems at a later stage.

One final thought is that you should be aware that if anyone in your family or at least anyone who you intend to be covered by this family health insurance policy has what could be considered a pre-existing condition, then you need to make that clear at the application stages as it can be a real spanner in the works if a claim needs to be made.

The road to health

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

The road to good health can be smooth if you commit yourself. In this article we will discuss some steps you can take down the road to good health. Many people want to walk that road, but just need the guidance to start the path.

One of the first things you can do is to recognize your bad habits. I have always believed that if you write them down you hold yourself more accountable for them. So whether it is smoking, drinking soft drinks or being a couch potato, recognizing the problem is the first step.

With that being said it is important to remember that is takes 6 months to make or break a bad habit. This means it will require commitment and patience. Creating a new habit or breaking an old one will not happen in a day, it takes time!

One way we can become more healthy is monitoring what we eat. What we put into our bodies is important to our health. Becoming aware of good and bad food is key to learning to eat more healthy.

Making a vow to get more exercise is a big step down the path of good health. Experts recommend getting at least 30 minutes of exercise at a minimum of 3 times a week. You can make small improvements however to make a difference. Such as parking further at the grocery store and taking the stairs.

One part of the health road that can make all the other parts bumpy, that many do not think about is stress and anxiety. We all face it from time to time. How we deal with it makes a huge difference in our lives.

Some people may need medication, but most can use some simple relaxation methods. Everyone should try to have at least 30 minutes a day for simple relaxation. It could be a soak in the tub, sitting on the porch listening to nature, a yoga class or meditation.

Everyone should have a means of relieving the daily stressors. Perhaps, the use of a stress ball, sports or crafting. Learning to relax is essential to good health. Too much stress can harm our immune systems.
