The liaison continent visitors health insurance plan is a low-cost, simpler version of the Liaison Majestic plan. The liaison continent visitors health insurance plan offers a range of medical benefits for visitors to the United States and Canada, and for other international travel. It is especially suited for those who are looking to insure against the most common occurrences.
The plan can be initially undertaken for a short period, and extended up to a maximum of six months. For the extensions, the plan parameters are decided based on the initial information chosen (coinsurance, pre-existing conditions, etc.). The benefit limits available under the liaison continent medical insurance plan range from $50,000 to $1 million.
You can choose from four plans under the Majestic Continental Travel Insurance plan depending on whether you are traveling to the United States or Canada, or traveling outside these two countries. Your premium will depend on the plan, deductible, your age, and optional coverage chosen.
The liaison continent medical insurance plan covers the entire gamut of medical care: ambulance services, physician consulting charges, diagnostic test costs, inpatient or outpatient charges (as the case may be), critical care costs and coronary care costs. The plan also covers auxiliary services like physiotherapy and home health care, on the doctor’s recommendation/advice. If there is no hospital room in the area, the plan also covers hotel room charges.
Other benefits of the plan include dental emergencies where applicable and eligible. In case emergency evacuation is called for, the Liaison Continental covers the evacuation, along with the travel of a close family member. If an unattended minor results from hospitalization, the plan covers the minor’s return trip home. The plan also offers accidental death and dismemberment benefits, and pays for the return of the mortal remains home in case of fatality.
The liaison continent insurance plan does not end the moment the insured steps out of the travel destination. Incidental trips to the home country are also covered, as are conditions first noticed or treated abroad. In case the plan holder has to rush home due to the destruction of his/her primary residence, the Liaison Continental plan covers the insured’s immediate return home. Loss of baggage is covered too, up to $250.
Insurance benefits are void for previously existing conditions. However, the plan covers pre-existing conditions for U.S. residents, for up to $20,000. Extra coverage for hazardous sports such as hang gliding and bungee jumping can be purchased on payment of an extra premium.
The administrators of the liaison continent visitor insurance plan are Seven Corners, Inc. The plan is underwritten by Certain Underwriters at London-based Lloyd’s, and is certified “A” by the A.M. Best Company. The plan is associated with the Hygeia network in the United States.
